The BC Lacrosse Association is looking for zone coaches for both Box Lacrosse and Field Lacrosse.  The application is now up on the BCLA website https://bcla.imeetcentral.com/bcla/doc/WzIsNDMwNTkxMTBd/.  Coaches, leading up to the Games, will need to be Trained at Competitive Introduction - Level 2.  The deadline to apply is 11 January 2018.

Stealth-BCLA "Lacrosse on the Move" 50-50

The BC Lacrosse Association is preparing for the 2017-18 Stealth-BCLA "Lacrosse on the Move" 50-50 sales during the Vancouver Stealth home games.  All net proceeds (50% of gross sales) go lacrosse teams traveling to Minor Box Provincials, Youth Field Provincials, and Team BC Athletes who face financial barriers to travel to National Championships and/or for training purposes preparing for National Championships.  For the past three years, approximately $116,000 has been dispersed across the province for these purposes.  It is our hope to do even more in 2017-18!

The BCLA is looking for 20 keen, assertive, hard-working 50-50 volunteer sellers who are 19 years of age or older.  50-50 volunteers will have free admittance into the games (sellers are done at the end of half time so you'd be able to watch the rest of the game) and a little cash for a snack.  Best of all, by volunteering, you'll be supporting amateur lacrosse athletes from across the Province of BC!

If you are interested in helping, please send an e-mail to rochelle@bclacrosse.com to let the BCLA know which games you're willing to help.  Click here for the complete Vancouver Stealth 2017-2018 Home Game Schedule.

PMLA Executive Positions

We have openings for volunteers!  The following PMLA Executive positions are vacant and we are seeking individuals who are committed to our great sport to fill them.

  • Treasurer:  The duties here are reasonably light, but we do need someone with a bit of background in finance or accounting.  The main task is managing the budget.
  • 3rd Vice-President:  The duties are reasonably light as well, usually taking on a few tasks during the year to learn about how our association functions.
  • Player Appreciation Coordinator:  This role essentially helps us kick-off the season by organizing our Ice-breaker tournament.
  • Female Coordinator:  We are working hard to grow the girls game, and would like someone to coordinate efforts across age groups to connect with the girls to encourage them to play.
  • Member at Large:  As mentioned above, a contribution of time and effort on a project or initiative is most welcome.

If you are interested in any of these positions, place contact the PMLA President (president@portmoodylacrosse.org).
